City Glass - The egg

This ring belongs to the collection Broken Traditions. City Glass — a body of work born from discarded shards of glass found on the street and transformed into precious objects.

The piece takes the form of a perforated egg, cast in silver and softly gilded in places, as if time itself had touched it unevenly.
From its crown emerge delicate claws, while inside the hollow form rests a gathered nest of urban glass fragments — broken, sharp, and luminous.

The egg becomes a symbol of fragility and becoming, of protection and exposure.
What was once overlooked and abandoned is held, guarded, and elevated.
Waste becomes treasure.
Damage becomes meaning.

This is one of my most cherished rings — a quiet testament to transformation, to tenderness, and to the beauty hidden in what the city leaves behind.
