Custom orderThis necklace reinterprets the traditional Romanian salbă through a contemporary lens, transforming memory, heritage, and fragments of the present into a wearable story.
The piece features six handcrafted silver coins, each one unique, engraved with ancient symbols inspired by the old cultural regions of Romania. Selective gilding highlights the details of each motif, creating a subtle contrast between silver and gold. Each coin has a diameter of approximately 3 cm, with a total weight of around 80 grams of silver.
Between the coins are fragments of blue street-found glass — once discarded, now reborn as luminous elements that resemble semi-precious stones. Every shard is individually set in a hand-worked silver mount, preserving its organic shape and honoring its journey. The necklace is strung on knotted archaic canvas, a textile that evokes traditional Romanian garments and ancestral craftsmanship.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece. It can only be recreated upon request, and it will never be identical — the original glass fragments no longer exist, and each future version will carry its own story.
A dialogue between past and present, fragility and strength, loss and transformation — this necklace embodies the belief that what is broken can still become precious.
Weight: 80g silver + glass ( substantial, like a relic meant to anchor memory)
Material: Solid 925 silver, gilded on select areas, glass, textile
Both the glass elements and the textile base are sensitive to perfume and prolonged contact with the skin. The selectively gilded details may fade over time with wear. We recommend handling the piece with care to preserve its beauty.
