Custom orderPrecious Fragments is a ring shaped like a delicate carnivorous plant, feeding on tiny transparent glass shards that resemble diamonds. At first glance, it appears encrusted with precious stones — sparkling, desirable, luxurious.
But what it holds are only fragments of broken glass.
The piece is a subtle satire of a society that often assigns value only when it is told something is valuable, only when it is expensive, only when it carries a label. The glass appears precious because we expect it to be. Because we are conditioned to see brilliance as worth.
This ring questions perception, status, and illusion.
It asks: Is it truly precious — or have we simply been taught to believe it is?
