This pendant is a raw, unsettling reflection on recent collective trauma.
At its center is a silver walnut kernel — a fragile form echoing the shape of the human brain. Piercing it are a metal nail and a 20-cent coin, embedded like intrusive thoughts: pressure, control, obligation. From this violent core hangs a shard of blue street-found glass, suspended like a tear — a gesture toward false compassion, performative empathy, and the spectacle of “crocodile tears.”
The materials are not decorative. They are accusatory.
The entire composition rests on a strip of gauze-like textile, slightly burned, recalling bandages, wounds, and the aftermath of crisis. Care and harm coexist in the same surface.
This piece speaks about the pandemic not through illustration, but through sensation:
about money and fear driven into the mind,
about narratives forced upon the body,
about sincerity replaced by performance,
about healing that never quite arrived.
It is not meant to comfort.
It is meant to remember.
Weight: 24 g — substantial
Material: Solid 925 silver, coin, glass, needle
Care for it as you would any silver talisman: avoid moisture, perfume, and harsh touch. The organic parts will naturally deteriorate depending on wear — their transformation is not a flaw, but a continuation of the story.
